The Thief of Peace

No matter how hard we try to drama out of our lives it somehow creeps in. From family disputes, the friend that seems unable to live without so type of drama going on, to what is going on in this world, in general, drama seeks to rob us of peace.

Drama steals our peace by getting us to look at what is happening. Attempting to get us either stuck in the middle or taking sides. It wins when we take our eyes off of God, stealing our peace and leaving us with stress and strife.

Drama is sneaky and hard to nip in the bud. We may try to by telling the person that is bringing it to us what they should do but that can cause more drama because they really don’t what help they just want to involve you in their mess. SO, how do we put a stop to drama in our lives?

I believe the power to stop drama lies within Philippians 4:6-7. I love how the New Living puts it.

When we react to drama with a knee jerk reaction, we leave God out of the situation completely. However, by bringing it to Him in prayer we are removing it out of our hands and seeking for Him to handle the drama. In return, we win by getting rid of the drama and receiving His peace that goes way beyond what we understand.
