Have you ever seen one ceramic pot go and break another pot because it didn’t like they way they look or what they said? OK, that may be a little far fetched but when you look at what Job 33:4 says, isn’t that what is going on in the world?
The Spirit of God has made me,
and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Job has the secret about getting along with others. When we realize that God made all of us and we have the breath of Almighty in us, we won’t treat others as though they are any different than us. With His love flowing through us, we are called to pass it on to others.
Recently, I had a situation where I was coming from a doctor’s office and walking across to the parking garage. We had to go up the elevator in the parking garage. As we were waiting for the elevator a guy was standing off to the side smoking a cigarette. Once everyone got in he was the last one in and stood right in front of the door. The first time the door open he jumps out of the way and takes a drag on the cigarette. jumped back in and as the door closed he exhaled filling the elevator with smoke.
Everyone in the elevator said nothing and did no type of reaction was made. No matter how angry we were with this man, we all expressed love in the form of grace towards him by being silent.
He showed no love to the rest of us in the elevator. He didn’t think that we mattered. He was only focused on himself. It is when we are focused on ourselves that we don’t even think about God. We are following the father of pride .
May we remember what Job said as we walk through this world it makes it easier to do what Jesus said in Matthew 5:44;
But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
