The Lord Is There

Have you ever gone some place and you just felt the presence of the Lord there?  In Ezekiel chapter 48, we see the boundaries of Israel listed. In the center of Israel lies the city of Jerusalem.  The circumference of the walls around Jerusalem is 23,000 feet. Each wall was to have three gates. Three time a year, everyone was required to go to the temple in Jerusalem during, Passover, the Feast of Weeks and the Festival of Booths.  That is why  Jehovah-shammah is the symbolic name for Jerusalem. God is there in the temple.

We live on this side of the cross and Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came to dwell within the believers. So, why does it feel sometimes that He is closer than other times?

There can be unconfess sin in our hearts that will seem to cause a distance between us and God. It will definitely hamper our prayers.

Another thing that can keep us from experiencing God’s closeness is that we are too busy. Spending too much time doing busy stuff like; social media, TV, playing games… We don’t make the time to spend with Him.

God required the Children of Israel to come near to Him three times a year. We have the ability to draw near to Him daily. We need to weed out the stuff and make the time to be with Him.
