Our Response Because He Can

Like Jude in verses 24 and 25, our response, in light of all that is going on around us should be praise to God, because of what He can do for us. Let’s look at the Amplified version;

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight,to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and power, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Jude starts out “Now to Him…” then later states who “Him ” is.

First, “the only God…” the Greek word here is theos, which means god, gods. Jude was very careful to make sure that the reader understood he was talking about the ONLY God, YHWH that the Jews worshiped.

Second, God is our Savior, sōtēr, which means Deliverer, Preserver, and Savior.

Third, we are saved through Jesus Christ, Christos means anointed, the Messiah.

Fourth, He is our Lord, kyrios meaning Lord, Master.

Now that we understand who Him is, let’s look at what He can do for us.

Start off with, He can keep us from stumbling, aptaistos, the Greek word is only used once in the entire Bible and it is here in Jude. God can keep us from falling into sin and stand firm.

We are able to stand in His presence, histēmi, means abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stand (by, forth, still, up).

We are amōmos, unblemished (literally or figuratively):—without blame (blemish, fault, spot), faultless, unblamable. Like the spotless lamb, that is required for the sacrifice of sin we can stand in the presence of God.

Which brings us agalliasis, exultation, extreme joy, and gladness.

Because God has saved us through Jesus the Messiah, our Lord, and Master, who keeps us from falling into sin and establishes as unblemished before God, we have extreme joy. Now that gives Him for our past, our now, and our future all:

Glory – doxa, dignity, glory, honor, praise, and worship.

Majesty – megalōsynē, greatness, and majesty.

Dominion – kratos, dominion, might, power, and strength.

God is in control of all that happens and no matter what people may have said or done to us in the past, He sees us blameless. We can join Paul, in Romans 8:31;
