Can you just hear the shock in Jesus’ voice when Philip asked Him to show them the Father? Not just Jesus but the other disciples were probably just as shocked.
Peter may have been thinking, ” Philip, if you would stop stuffing your mouth with food you would have heard what Jesus said.”
Thomas might have thought, “…And they call me the doubter?”
Here Jesus had just said that He was going to His Father’s house to make rooms for everyone, He was the only way to the Father, and they know and have seen the Father because they have spent time with Jesus. That is why there is no reason to be anxious with what is going on in the world because He will come and take us home. Yet, Philip just asked Jesus to show him and the other disciples the Father.
We are no different than Philip. How many times have we sat there and heard His words but never really listened to His words? We are worried and troubled about what is going on in this world. Wanting to hear more or a clear sign that God is in the situation. How many times do we cry out to Him,”Show us?”

the disciples of Jesus were interesting and in some cases they would not understand Jesus.They had weaknesses each and everyone of them but they really loved Jesus and they were willing to go wherever he goes
