Have you ever had someone tell the Bible was for back then has nothing to do with now? There are several verses that come to my mind when I hear that. First is Hebrews 13:8,
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
The next one is James 1:17,
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change
Unlike the rock in the picture wind + water + time doesn’t equal change to God. He is the only thing we can trust to be a constant in our lives. Like the North Star, He will always lead us into truth.
But the best verse I found to prove that He is timeless and the Bible is relevant for today is John 17:20,
I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word
Jesus is praying for those that will come to know Him, this is those in the future which would be us right now. He wants us to know Him just as much as Peter, John, Mark, and the rest of His followers.The only way we can do that is by being in the Bible to read about Him.
