Has God ever asked you to do something and you felt you were incapable of doing what He wanted you to do? Maybe, He promised you something and when you look at your earthly situation there is just no way you see it happening. You are in good company. Let’s look at a day in Sarah’s old diaries.
Dear Diary,
I really love Abram. I love him so much that I was willing to leave our home and follow him wherever God led him. Even left my fine china behind, it was a wedding present. However, I’m starting to worry about him.
See. Today he told me that God said we were going to have a son. I think this wondering around in the sun has baked his brain. Surely, he realizes that I am past the age of being able to get pregnant and he is no longer that young handsome guy I married. A child at our age? HA!
On top of that, we are to have descendants which outnumber the stars in the sky. One son and there are millions of stars. How on earth is that going to happen? I think Abram needs to come into the tent and get out of the sun for awhile.
First, he asked me to lie for him and now he thinks I’m going to have a baby. God has not seen fit to give me a child when I had the energy to run after it. Now? I just don’t see how I can give him a child.
