Are you as comfortable as the koala is when you sleep or do you lay there tossing and turning trying to get comfortable so you can sleep? Have you invited the Lord to help you sleep? When my kids were young I used to pray that the Lord would watch over them and help them to have good dreams. It wasn’t until recently after nights of bad dreams did I think of doing that for myself. Proverbs 19:23 says; “The fear of the Lord leads to life, So that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.” This really changed my bedtime routine. Once I started to invite the Lord to watch over my thought life while I slept did I sleep in comfort.
Fridays, are Five Minute Fridays. Take the time to write for 5 minutes on the given word. This week the word is comfort. This is a great way to start writing. A small yet daring step. Here is the link to follow if you want to join: #FMF-Comfort
Hello, I’m your FMF neighbor this week. 🙂 Nighttime is when my creativity likes to show itself. So I often go to sleep with a notebook and pen nearby to jot down ideas and thoughts that enter my mind so that I can sleep peacefully. I often need to pray and ask the Lord to help my mind relax so that I can sleep. I also start praying through the alphabet and so often fall asleep praying. (One night I start at A and pray down and the next night I start at Z and pray that way so that everyone on my list gets covered. LOL)

I too keep pen and paper by the bed because I will lay there and start think scenes out for my book.

I had the same thought about comfort – that it’s “more than coffee.” Ha! I absolutely LOVE the Proverb you share. As someone who has struggled with the night, this will very much comfort me! And, I will use it when I pray with my children at bedtime, too. Thank you!
