Ostrich, Oil, Olives, Octagon, and Octopus,

You won’t find an octopus in the Bible, not even on the ark. But there is a lot we can learn from them about the Christian walk.  An octopus can camouflage to match its surroundings.  In I Corinthians 9:22b, Paul says, “I have become all things to all people, that by all means, I might save some.” He is not suggesting to go out and get drunk at the bars or become homeless so you can minister to them. It is taking on the heart of Christ and meeting them at their level like He did when He walked on this Earth. Next, when an octopus is hungry it uses its suction cups to move the food to its mouth. We need to take and hold on tight to our spiritual food by hiding it in our hearts.
