Roses, Roads, Rainbows, Ribbons, and Rahab

Rahab is a reminder God can use anyone to get His job done. In Jericho, she was used by the temple priest and men, lived on the wrong side of the main wall, and longed for a god that would not abuse her, her friends, and would rescue her. She had heard the stories of the God of the Hebrews, all He had done in Egypt, how He took care of them in the wilderness, and she found herself believing in Him while everyone else in Jericho lived in fear of Him. No wonder why she hid the spies and sought shelter for her family when they would attack Jericho. Through God, Rahab found acceptance, the love of her life and was the great, great, great grandmother of King David. Her life was like a Hallmark movie, she went from being a temple prostitute living on the wrong side of the wall to marrying the Prince of the tribe of Judah and one of three women listen in the genealogy of Jesus. This because of her confession of faith in Joshua 2:11b, “for the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.”
