We look for peace every day but what kind of peace are we seeking? Lately, it is the peace to live without fear. Peace to live what we believe and not be told we are wrong. Peace to go where we want and not be threatened by someone because we don’t look, talk, or act the way they think we should. These are forever elusive and unattainable. Sure leaders can do things to try to bring peace but when you look at 1 Thessalonians 5:3, it is clear that “While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”
SO, where do you find peace?
In Jeremiah 8, we see the reason the world’s peace doesn’t last is because they have walked away from God. Jesus came to bring us life abundant. We can only get true peace by walking in a close relationship with God. So if you want peace real peace it is only by living a life with Jesus as Lord and Savior.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
