Jeremiah 34 Study Guide

This week there are several lessons we need to understand. Most of all we will look at if we are holding our brothers and sisters in Christ as slaves.

Monday — How does the promise found in Jeremiah 29:11 apply to Jeremiah 34:2-5?

Tuesday — Read Deuteronomy 15:12-17. What does God have to say about the treatment of slaves?

Wednesday — How were they treating slaves in Jeremiah 34? How does Matthew 5:37 match up to what was going on in these verses?

Thursday — In John 8:31-36, What does Jesus say we are slaves to? How are we made free?

Friday — How does Jeremiah 34:17-22, connect with John 8:31-36?

Saturday — We see God’s judgment throughout the Old Testament for the worship of false gods. The 10 plagues of Egypt (Exodus 7-11), the destruction of Jericho because it was one of the main worship centers for the Moon-god (Joshua 6), and the desolation of the Earth found in the book of Revelation, just to name a few. How does the destruction of Judah line up for worshipping false gods in Jeremiah 34:17-22?
