Jeremiah 35 Study Guide

So who are the Rechabites? It is important to understand just who the Rechabites are since they are not from the twelve tribes of Israel. They are a Jewish sect that has been following the Children of Israel since they left Egypt. In Judges 4:11, we see they are descendants of Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law. They were obedient to following what their forefathers told them. They lived the nomadic life and didn’t drink wine. In Rabbinical Literature some say some of the Rechabites were scribes and even members of the Sanhedrin. This week we will focus on our obedience and how we are to serve God.
