While everyone else in Judah was going after false gods, the Rechabites, on the other hand, chose to obey what their forefathers had said to do in how they were to live their life before God. While Judah was going into captivity in Babylon the Rechabites were promised by God due to their obedience they would always have a presence before Him. They were willing to obey and were allowed to serve Him when Judah wasn’t.
Three times in John 14:15-23, Jesus says that our obedience to Him is connected to our love for Him. How do we know His commandments? In Joshua 1:8, we are told to meditate on God’s Word day and night. There is a blessing for those who obey, Luke 11:28.
So if we are known by our obedience to God as it says in 1 John 2:3-11, what does your footprint say about your love for God?
