I have hanging up in my bathroom a framed poster of the last part of Proverbs 31:30 (ESV), “but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” It helps me to keep my mind focused throughout the day as to what type of wife, mother, daughter… I need to be. Often, I repent for my attitude prior to walking in there. Proverbs 31 has been my favorite chapter for as long as I can remember.
Over the next few months we will take a look at some of the women mentioned in the Bible. Some you might know well, some not so well. However, God sought to honor them by mentioning them in the Bible. This week we will look at what the Bible says a woman that fears the Lord should be like.
Write what each reading has to say about what is valued in a woman and how you can apply it to your life. We will start on Monday with Proverbs 31. This is what not to do — She buys a vineyard. I don’t think you will ever check that one off of your to-do list. But, stop and think what does that say about her. She is willing to take risks. Doesn’t care if her hands get dirty, good-bye manicure. Make sure to look at several versions of the Bible.
