Learning to Shine Like Mary

Thanksgiving is past. Santa arrived at the end of the Macy’s parade, like he does every year. The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season has begun. I know this because my oldest son, our chruch’s tech director, has locked himself in his room with Christmas music playing while he make videos for the songs for the five Christmas Eve services. I will not get to see him until after the last Christmas Eve service and when he wants food. Yet we always find time to watch A Charlie Brown’s Christmas together.

I have always felt sorry for Charlie Brown for the way he was treated by everyone for the tree he picked out. Yes, it was a scrawny tree. But not being thankful for what they had they missed out on the blessing. It isn’t until the end of the show that they realize how special the tree was and decorated it did the tree shine at it’s full potential.

This Christmas may we learn that our words and actions matter. May they be used to glorify God the Father and his gift to us, Jesus.

This week we are going to look at Mary. We find her story in Luke chapter 1. Each day write what you have learned and on Saturday write how you see Mary shined at her fullest potiential like the Charlie Brown tree, and why .

Monday – Luke 1:26-28

Tuesday – Luke 1: 29-34

Wednesday – Luke 1:35-37

Thursday – Luke 1:38

Friday – Luke 1:39-45

Saturday – Luke 1:46-56

Prayer – Lord, may we learn this week what you see in us and shine for you in our full potiential. Amen
