Jehovah is I AM

When we looked at the times I AM is used we see it is the name of God, YHWH. The same GOD that met with Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. Although His name was not revealed until Moses asked Who was sending him.  That is so comforting that when we trust Him we know He is in charge. Yet, even when we are unsure He will reveal Himself to us.

Then in Jeremiah we see there are certain things that He stands for and certain thigs He is against. He will always be on the side of Israel. Even when they turn their back on Him.

He is against that proud. Pride is what got satan kicked out of heaven. Pride seeks to set oneself over GOD. He has always brought destruction onto those who have been puffed up with pride. Proverbs 16:18, says it all;

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

In 1 John 2:16 we see that pride is not from GOD but from the world;

For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

So let us examine our lives and put away the things of the flesh so that we can walk in the fullness of Christ. This is not just a one-time thing as long as we live in this world we have to make it a daily effort to rid ourselves as we live here in the world. So let’s follow what Galatians 5:16-26.

 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.  Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
