One thing I have noticed God looks for the one person who is following Him before He brings about destruction. It is His grace which He extends to that person and their family.
In Genesis 6, we see the account of Noah and God instructing him to build the ark to preserve His creation when the flood came. It is in verse 8, we see that “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” He was the only one that was not corrupt in God’s eyes. It was Noah’s faith, we read about in Hebrews 11:7, he became an heir to righteousness.
Abrahan pleaded with God to save Sodom for his nephew Lot’s sake in Genesis 18. God said that if there were only ten righteous in Sodom He would spare the city of destruction. Yet, when God looked He only found Lot and his family. So, God, had them flee the city before He destroyed it.
Even when it came to Jericho in Joshua 2 and 6, we see Rahab hiding the spies and afterward, she confessed to the spies that she believed their God was the only God. It is her faith that saved her and her family from the destruction of Jericho.
God is always looking for those who walk in justice and truth. He will save them from the destruction that is to come. Are you among those that walk in faith and righteousness?
